NEW HOPE COMMUNITY DINNER

New Hope hosts a community dinner every second Thursday, with the help of
generous church or sponsor groups. These evenings are a highlight for many of our residents and staff, because they create a unique opportunity to connect, show love to our residents, and build community with them.

We will be participating on Thursday, March 20th to provide pizza, serve the New Hope Community, eat & have fellowship and cleanup afterwards.

Cozy Gathering is for all women of all ages and stages
On February 9th, there will be a gathering at the church from 7-9pm.  This is a great opportunity to have some fun, get to know one another, share some treats and share what God has done.

It is good and right for God’s people to share together about the good things that God is doing. And it’s our practice to do this the first Sunday of every year. Sharing services always encourage our church and build us up. This year’s sharing service also kicks off a month of focusing on the spiritual discipline of testimony. We will both give ideas for practicing testimony sharing, and also give time in our Sunday services to share about our experiences of practicing this sharing. Would you be so brave as to pray, listen, and consider whether God has some things that he wants you to share?

Fort Family and Friends!

The fact that we’re celebrating our 50th year isn’t the only reason that this September is a special one.

It’s a time to anticipate not just a return after summer, but a bigger return together after the complexities of the past couple of years. This will be the biggest kickoff we’ve had in a few years. Whether you’ve been gone for the past couple weeks, months or years we’re asking you to all to prayerfully save the date.

Our worship gathering happens at 10am with worship, connection, and the start of our Fall series.

We’ll serve up hot dogs and corn on the cob for a picnic after the service. The church family will provide salads and desserts, and there will be activities for kids and adults alike. We hope to see you there!

A Seder dinner remembers the Jewish Passover as recorded in Exodus. As Christians, we partake in this meal to remember our Jewish brothers and sisters who came before us, just as Jesus did on the night before his death. It was at this meal that Christ instituted the Lord’s Supper and washed the feet of his disciples. We do this in remembrance of Jesus.

As 2024 winds down, we want to share three things about giving:

1- Our gratitude: God uses your giving to carry out his heart and mission for us. We marvel at the faithfulness of God and his  provision through his people to help meet our needs year-after-year. Thank you!

2- A reminder: Any giving that you want to be applied to the 2024 tax-year needs to be received before January 1. If you need to drop something off at the office during the week, please coordinate by emailing office@fortchurch.ca. The office is closed this week but we can arrange for someone to meet you at the church if necessary.

Every year we gather items for a struggling family so they can enjoy a nice Christmas. Items can be Christmas dinner related, gift cards, & specific items of need the family have requested. Starting December 1st, a tree will be in the church foyer adorned with tags with gift suggestions for you to choose from.
All donations must be back by December 17th

We will be supporting a Ukranian Family as our Giving Tree recipient this Christmas.  A mom and her 2 children (ages 7 and 11) and their aunt.  The father is currently serving in the military in the Ukraine.  Giving tags with suggested items that they are in need of will be on a tree in the foyer starting next Sunday, December 1.  All donations will need to back by the 17th.  (This is in collaboration with the Fort Langley Elementary School next door)

New Hope is a Christian ministry that provides a home and community to newly immigrated families of different faiths to Canada.  Join us as we visit and decorate gingerbread together on Wednesday, December 4th from 7:00 - 9:00pm.  Families with children are perfect for this event.  Please only register the adults of your family so we know how many adults will be on hand for this event. What is Alpha?

The Alpha course is an evangelistic course which seeks to introduce the basics of the Christian faith through a series of talks and discussions. It is described by its organizers as "an opportunity to explore the meaning of life".

Their goal is to continually support the church with resources and tools that help create a space where people are excited to bring their friends for a conversation about Jesus. The Alpha Film Series and Alpha Youth Series were designed to take guests on a journey of faith over multiple weeks. Each session covers a key element of the gospel in a way that is easy-to-follow and leaves space for people to explore their questions about life, faith, and God.

Thanks and praying for a good year together!

All are invited to join us for a night of backyard worship on August 28th at 7pm! Our theme is "returning to our first love" which will cause us to consider God's great love for us revealed throughout time and throughout our lives, from childhood till now. We will sing songs which remind us of the roots of our faith like hymns and songs from our days at summer camp. We will also hear testimonies from each other about God's action in our lives. A couple things to know about this event:
- It will be held outdoors (weather permitting) in the Beckford's backyard (10404 Allard Crescent, Langley). If the weather does not cooperate, we will still be at the Beckford's, but indoors.
- There will be childcare provided for little ones.
- You may bring your own lawn chair should you wish to do so.
- Please try to carpool as there is limited parking!
We look forward to worshipping together and fellowshipping as a church outside of our regular Sunday morning worship time!

We have been invited to attend a Langley Rams Jr. Football Game on Saturday, August 24th as they play against the Valley Huskers (Chilliwack) at McLeod Stadium, Langley, 58 Ave & 214A Street.

This opportunity has been given to us free of charge from the team's owner. We however are asking for a $5 donation per adult, (no donation needed for kids under 12) to help us cover future ministerial costs that occur while Pastor Jason spends time with these young athletes.

The Children's Ministry will be providing a Hot Dog Lunch after the service on Sunday, July 14th.

After the service, join us for a hot dog lunch, while we watch a video showcasing the highlights of this week's Children's VBS as well as a short program from some of the kids.

We will be handing out Baby Bottles this Sunday! -

This Baby Bottle Campaign is a fundraiser where they provide you with physical baby bottles for distribution to fill with cash, cheques, and completed donation forms.  You can also fill a virtual bottle online!  This campaign launches on Mother's Day and will run through to Father's Day.  All proceeds of the Baby Bottle Campaign go towards supporting free and confidential support to the women, children and families they serve at Hope for Women Pregnancy Services.

Join FLCC and other local churches for Fort Langley's Stations of the Cross.  A remembrance of Jesus' road to the cross, stopping at different places within Fort Langley.  The event begins at 10am outside the Fort Langley Community Hall.

This service on the last day of 2023 is committed to prayer for 2024. 
2024 is going to have some foundational questions that we are seeking the Lord for. People in our church family are going through significant things that we want to lift up to the Lord.
When the disciples requested “Lord teach us to pray,” the Prayer-Master gave them the Lord’s Prayer, and then game them a story about relentless and audacious persistence. 
We will use Jesus’s prayer to guide us, praying that it’s the start of a year of audacious persistence in prayer for our church.

Join us for our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service starting at 5pm.   Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Fellowship Team, in collaboration with Kid’s Ministry, invite you to an evening of fellowship and Advent on Sunday, December 17 at 5:30pm as we look forward to celebrating Jesus’ birth.  We will have a meal together, have a spot for you to take a family photo, and will enjoy a presentation from the Kid’s Ministry. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbours.

The Men's Ministry group will be kicking off the fall season with a BBQ.  This is open to all men ages 18 and up.

Church Clean Up Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 13th at 9am.  There are multiple tasks that you can sign up for that can fit your skill set.  More hands make the work quicker and lighter for everyone.  We usually finish up around 1pm.

We're excited to restart our journey reading through the Bible! We have people who joined us the first time who are planning to read again, and others who are joining us for the first time!

The two-year reading plan (found here) includes a daily reading in the Psalms or Proverbs. (We will go through the Psalms four times, and Proverbs three times in the next two years.)

The last page of the plan includes some questions that we encourage you to ask and answer with each reading.

We've adapted the plan so that it finishes on Dec 31, 2024, which allows you to explore different plans that start on Jan 1 of 2025!   

We're excited to let you know that our new website is live and will continue to "fill out" in upcoming weeks. This is not one of the bigger, most important things in the Kingdom of God, but we hope that it will be a useful tool to connect with others, and a way to convey some of the love and good news of Jesus to the community and world around us!
